I think Narina’s project—as it highlights not only our connection but also the importance of us thinking and writing and creating together—is especially poignant these days.
Holly and Charlene and Narina, what an absolute bliss to find such beautiful calm all in one place and from such gorgeous souls. This was a delight to listen to, from hemlock to early frogs and wilting tulips in grandmas vase, how inviting you make these simple things sound - I loved this so much! Thank you for distant collaborations.. 🌍
Thank you for listening Susie! And I can't agree more - such a slight to listen to Holly and Charlene reading their beautiful pieces. I'm beginning to put plans together for the next series, so please drop me a DM if you'd like to be involved.
Really enjoyed being part of this series, Narina! Thanks so much for including me. I loved reading your piece next to mine, Holly - so descriptive and interesting. And thank you to everyone in the comments who has enjoyed reading, I'm delighted you liked this little window into our far-apart worlds. 🖤
Holly! This was so lovely. Every single scrumptious word of it. The description of the leaves, of the animals, of the slug-you didn't know! The longing and connection and the connection that brings the longing but also soothes it. Just a gorgeous piece! xo
Narina, what a gorgeous connected web you have woven, drawing like-hearted souls from around the world and allowing us into their sphere. Reading these pieces made me feel warm and included, it gave me a sense of hopefulness and joy.
Holly and Charlene, thank you for sharing so beautifully.
Lovely, Narina. Charlene: those fairy lights, silent fairies ... xx and all else. Holly: Hemlock trunks, and all encounters of black tailed deer xx ... and all else as the world connects--when we seem so unconnected in the U.S. or so it seems, but the fires brought us together here in Los Angeles. And then the prayer call, Charlene ... xx
This was so rich! I love this idea, of weaving together two people in different spaces but in the same time. Thank you Holly and Charlene for this amazing collaboration!
This was so much fun, Narina. Thank you and thank you, Charlene. What a joy to hear our three voices and the noises outside your window, Narina, braided so.
To connections across the globe. To writing and thinking and creating together. ♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for being part of this, Holly. I was over the moon when you and Charlene said you'd like to write for this, and I absolutely love how your two pieces work together. Thank you!
Narina, as this is my first exposure to this series I'll start by expressing what others must surely be feeling profoundly, what you must surely have anticipated when you imagined this project: We are all so much closer together than we often imagine! That, followed by the potency of observation. When we make time to see what is just before us, the world slows down and becomes so much less terrifying.
Thank you for conceiving this and breathing life into it. Thank you, Charlene and Holly. Your words are a portal to possibility.
By the way -- Narina, I love your name -- and I hope you'll forgive me when I tell you that my brain keeps wanting to turn it into Narnia. If it's any consolation, everyone wants to turn me into a Baggins. I mean, I guess could do worse than being thought of as a hobbit. 😅
Thank you Elizabeth (not Baggins ☺️) – and no problem with Narnia... I get that often! My name comes from a bird... my dad saw a Narina trogon (a shy forest-dwelling bird) the morning I was born. If he hadn't have seen it, I'd probably be Rebecca :)
Beautiful writing! Thanks Charlene, Holly, Narina for taking us into these special worlds!
Aren't the essays so beautiful? Thank you for also being a part of this series, Jan ❤️
Thank you, Jan!

Yes, I totally agree!
It was a pleasure!

Thank you for sharing this very special into your world, Charlene. It's had me dreaming (again!) of visiting the Shetland Islands one day <3
Yes. I think our pieces went well together. And I really loved picturing your room. 🥰

Thank you, Jocelyn! This was a truly fun project to work on.
PS. I have a video of that slug. I will post it on Notes sometime soon— because it truly needs to be seen. :)

Thank you for that invitation Narina. I will dm you.
Thank you, Donna!
I agree. Hope and joy are woven into this project. And we so need both—and to look at and raise up both.
♥️♥️♥️
Absolutely!
What a fascinating idea! Love this!
Right?!
Thinking of Charlene writing “with” me was quite magical.
It was cool!
This is absolutely wonderful. Thank you.
Thank you, Sue! It was a delight to take part in. And I appreciate you partaking. ♥️

Thank you for listening, Mary - and I'm so glad you did... a deeper experience than reading the words, for me anyway.
Yes. I agree. The prayer call at the end was such a wonderful touch.
And I love how Narina’s intro and outro bring a third place into the connection.
Thank you, my friend, for listening and commenting. ♥️

Oh, a portal to possibility. I love this, Elizabeth.
I also love the way you have captured the essence of this project — how much closer we all truly are than we often imagine on so very many levels.
Thank you, thank you for reading and commenting.
A truly inspired project!

What a beautiful story. And also causes me to wonder: why are there no Rebecca birds? 😂
😁
